Under the masterful tutelage of his uncle, chief carpenter at the famed Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City, Joe Melz began his career in construction with a deep dedication to Old-World pride in workmanship. After establishing a highly respected career as an estate homebuilder, Melz brought his finely honed expertise to middle Tennessee.

In 1993, he founded Deer Creek Construction in Franklin. Today, as he did as a young carpenter at The Waldorf, Melz continues his commitment to the timeless traditions of artistry, elegance and perfection.
